Sunday School

Sunday school classes are offered for all children and youth at 9:45 a.m.  from the Sunday after Labor day until the Sunday before Memorial Day, excluding Christmas and Easter.

Youth Groups

Currently, four youth groups are active providing kids from kindergarten through high school an opportunity to develop their Christian faith.


9-month confirmation class is offered every other year to 6th & 7th graders on Sunday mornings. Three parish-wide confirmation weekend events are scheduled throughout the year. Check out the Children’s Ministry and the Youth Ministry for more information.


Adult Education and Small Groups

Short term adult classes and bible studies are held regularly and by request. They meet on various days and times throughout the week to accommodate the needs of those involved.

UMM – United Methodist Men

United Methodist Men usually meet on the first Saturday morning of each month. Special annual activities include breakfast for the women during Christmas and Valentines seasons.

UMW – United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women (UMW) at HUMC is comprised of three circles: Epworth, Navarand, & UNO. Annually, these groups join for World day of Prayer, Day of Prayer & Self-Denial, and Pledge Service. Jointly these groups participate in several activities, including mission projects, preparing funeral dinners, reading program, a salad supper in the fall, a Christmas tea, and a May breakfast.

Reading Program

Education is a core United Methodist Women’s value. Year-round, HUMC’s unit joins women from across the country by reading books that further our vision. Titles cover contemporary topics: spiritual growth, mission, community nurturing and social action.

Caring Ministries

  • The United Methodist Women provide a meal or refreshments following a funeral service for the family and friends of those who pass.
  • Retread Threads, the churches local mission, is a gently used clothing and housewares store.  It is located on main street next to the bank.  Open three days a week, Wednesday and Thursday from 11-5 and Friday from 12-3.
